DIY Tool for Opening RV Vents, Even When You Are Too Short

We ran into this great idea for those of you that can’t quite reach the vent handles in your trailer and motorhome, and you don’t want to have to pull out a step stool or chair every time.

Get a piece of PVS pipe from the local hardware store that is large enough to fit on the knob. You can remove the knob and take it with you if you don’t want to measure. Then cut a few notches in the top of the pipe to fit over the points of the knob. If you want to get fancy, you can attach an elbow to the bottom for a short handle.

Your new RV vent tool is done!

And that’s it! Now when you want to open the RV vent, grab your new tool, and use it to turn the vent knob the direction you desire. A great idea from a creative fellow named Mike that we thought we needed to share.
